As an 8th grade class, we will spend our year investigating the events that built and continue to shape our country. We will look closely at the people and events that transformed our nation from dependent colonies to an independent world power, and examine our governing documents to understand how they relate to us today. Additionally, we will discuss what role we play as a Christian citizen in our present United States. With the historian it is an article of faith that knowledge of the past is a key to understanding the present.
