It was great to meet with everyone tonight! Please take some time to review the new Discipline policy and classroom policies with your student. A signed copy of the discipline policy should be returned to school by Friday, August 20th.
For those who were unable to attend, a folder with information will be sent home with your student on the first day of school. Please look through and read the papers included, and return any forms as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions--I am happy to help!
A few words about the new discipline policy:
This school year we will be implementing a new discipline policy for grades 6-8. School and classroom rules will remain the same, but a new structure of consequences is in place. Teachers will begin assigning detentions to students who repeatedly break school and classroom rules, cause disruptions, or act in a way that warrants principal intervention. Detentions will be assigned at the teachers discretion and an information form explaining the actions resulting in a detention will be sent home with your student. If one of these forms comes home with your student, spend some time discussing the matter with them and then sign it and send it back with them to school. They will need this signed form in order to serve their time in detention. Please contact me if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing everyone on our first day of school on Wednesday!
Blessings!!!

Ephesians 4:29-32 (New International Version)
29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
